Relating our product to another film product

Frame 1- This is a high angle shot of a print of two hands. This gives authority to the hands as this shot mainly focuses on the hand prints. You can tell that this film is a scary thriller as discrete images are being used. This image gives a insight of what type of genre the film might be.

Frame 2- this is an extreme close up of a person running his hands through a rather sharp knife. This dominates the scene as this is very unusual a mysterious. By this the shot creates tension upon the viewer. This shot may suggest a person is planning something like a murder as he is testing the sharpness of the knife. This frame opens up the narrative.

Frame 3- This shows the main title of the film. You can see that it is very dull as a dark colour is used in the background. This immediately sets the tense moment and defines the film as a thriller. Note that the font used is quite blurry not very easy to read. It has some sort of scratchy affect. This may also show something bad happens in the film.

Frame 4- this is a medium close up of a picture of a person. This may show the person the main actor is trying to kill or maybe the person who he already killed. The colour contrast is a over powering red which may show that the person is dead.

Frame 5- this is a high angle close up of a person cutting up an image. Again this may be the next target. The title seven may reflect seven deaths and the person who he’s cutting up may be one of them. This reveals the some of the narrative and builds tension.

Frame 6- this again is an extreme close-up of the same man but he seems to be using his fingerprint to highlight certain words. From the previous shots and this you can see that the characters face hasn’t been shown. This creates a mystery for the audience which then makes question go through their mind. In our sequence we took the same idea as this continuously insights the audience making them want to know who is behind all this.

Frame 7- this moves on from the previous shot. This time he is using a pen to highlight some text maybe from a newspaper. It might show that he is finding out information about his next target.

Frame 8- this is a close up of a picture of a male. There is a line being drawn across his face. This might show that this is another target and it is has already been accomplished. The lighting used in this particular shot is very dark, which creates anxiety for the audience which again is another way of showing that this opening sequence is a thriller.

Frame 9- this is an extreme close-up of the actor’s hands with a needle in it. This sums up the previous shots as we can know see that he is planning to kill seven people as he is doing un-normal, mysterious things. This is a good shot as it shows authority of the hands and needle. It makes it the centre of attention which builds suspense.
